Teaching

Welcome students of the Göttinger Cardiovascular Sciences Master program!

Here you will find the PDFs of the lectures on “Molecular Microscopy in Medicine” of the week from November 7 till November 11, 2016.

All files are password protected and will be deleted from the site on Friday November 19th 2016!

I have corrected the link. See below and see you all tomorrow.

01_Basics

Here is the second double hour. In order to keep the size small enough for easy downloading, I removed many pretty example images (you will see them in the lecture) and downscaled the resolution of the images per se. You learned in the first lecture how this affects their quality…

And again, we’d rather have you look into these PDFs after the lecture. Most of them only make sense when/after you hear(d) the explanation.

02_Fluorescence_Microscopies

Here is the lecture of Wednesday, Nov. 9 on Fluorescence and Labels. It is bigger than the previous 2 due to a compression issue.

The day before last. Attached below is today’s PDF on FRET principles and its detection by FLIM.

04_FRET_FLIM

Below is the PDF of Friday’s lecture on Optical Biosensors and, on demand, the working mechanism of a laser.

For the discussion and Questions&Answers session, here is an additional PDF on FRET and STED dyes.

And the promised list of online microscopy resources:

• Molecular Expressions

• Nikon Microscopy U

• Zeiss Microimaging Campus

• Olympus Microscopy Resource Center

Plus, here is a reader on FRET methods, these are the relevant pages of one of our book chapters.
