An gloomy one. This one will be difficult to recognise with the dramatic lighting and the peculiar shape. You are looking at a big rock polished to have smooth waves/blobs onto which very fine specks of ice rain have fallen. The bit in front has not been polished or perhaps something has broken off. As if it has been sprinkled with powder sugar. Without context, it looks a bit like fungus on a raspberry. © 2017 Fred S. Wouters

Breakfast in Taipei
Breakfast in bed. You know you’re far away when breakfast is really different. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
All you need
A street corner in Erice, Sicily. I think I admitted to my love for time-worn details before … There are quite a number of tourists, but they tend not to stay the night. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
Sku
A rainy afternoon in Maastricht, the Netherlands, spent in a church-turned-bookstore. Three levels of books and a coffee bar area. Brilliant. This photograph is taken again with the Meyer Trioplan ‘soap bubble bokeh’ lens. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
Lifebuoy
The strong lines and the bright orange ring at the vanishing point of the railings appealed to me. A spontaneous study in composition. Picture was taken al Albert dock. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
Analog Love
This photograph is shot twice, so to speak. I miss shooting with my old Rolleiflex medium format camera. The best thing was looking down onto the large matte glass viewfinder. The shiny thing in the lower side is a fold-out magnifying glass. Nice but very unpractical in the days of digital. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
2 Blackburne Terrace
The breakfast table in the 2 Blackburn Terrace B&B in Liverpool. Sarah and Glenn made me feel really at home. I tried to capture the serene atmosphere in this backlit shot. The lemons are a nice touch. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
