Another picture from the Advanced Training Centre at EMBL, Heidelberg. This composition taken from the spiral walkway looking down on a discussion corner with table and chairs appealed to me. Stark colour contrast, simple shapes and a nice arrangement. © Fred S. Wouters

The Advanced Training Centre at the EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) in Heidelberg, Germany is a crazy, DNA-shaped building. It has an inner helical walkway that goes to the top floor and cross-connecting bridges that mimic the base pairing. Very weird but very pretty. © 2016 Fred S. Wouters
